EssenceFM - Audio render individual outputs
jbowman | Would it be possible to expand the USB Audio Render feature so that all 8 individual outputs could be simultaneously rendered as separate wav files? Also if the start of the recording could be synced to MIDI, then this would improve my workflow. Thanks! |
| jbowman | Now I think about it - if all 16 parts from a performance were rendered as separate wav files - that would be even better than is available with the TRS outs. |
KODAMO | Thanks for the idea, we checked this but it is not possible, USB drives are slow, writing a single stereo file in real-time is already on the edge for some drives. However there is a solution, that is to keep everything in memory and write to the drive only when the recording is stopped. It's not perfect though because that would limit the recording time to few minutes. |
| jbowman | Thanks for the response. If your proposal would enable all 16 parts to be rendered as WAV files then that would be really good, even if there is a limit on the length of recording. Presumably you could output a longer song onto a USB drive by recording in multiple sequential renders. Hopefully the start of each subsequent render would line up automatically with the end of the previous render so you could easily reassemble 16 parts/tracks of a longer song in your DAW. |
