Tempo-synced operator frequency

Let's face it, EFM needs more ways to wub.

There is still quite a bit of room on the "base" operator page.
What if there was another button under "fixed" called "sync", a bit like on the LFO?
I propose three states: off, on (no key retrigger), on (key retrigger).
The multiplier controls would continue to work as-is, with the exception that quartertones becomes the first decimal place, and fine becomes second decimal of the multiplier. This would allow us to use operators for funky tempo-sync wobble-makers.

Also, you could create tuning systems that were tempo-linked, so for example the sub bass period would always be in phase with the beat... cool!

I think this idea may have been proposed here before. Does anybody know of any FM synths that offer this capability?

MIDI Tempo isn't a good source for syncing operator frequency because it's very jittery. MIDI never sends an exact tempo, it is just "ticks" and the receiving synth has to calculate a tempo from that, that make it really bad although for LFO it works because it's not very timing sensitive

Oh that's interesting, thanks for sharing!
The easy solution is just to have a field for manual tempo entry, instead. For dynamic tempo changes, the user could map it to a midi CC in the mod matrix.
This could also be used for tempo-linked envelopes :)
